Quick Summary of Chiropractic and What Adjustments Actually do for the body. 

Stress in the body occurs from 3 main sources – physical,  chemical, and emotional stress.  These stressors break down and interfere with the normal function of our brain and bodies nervous system that allow it to heal and communicate properly. These interruptions occur along the communication pathway (our spine) from our brain to our body and can start to cause problems or shut down the system. Chiropractic adjustments help to remove the physical stressors known as subluxations (misalignments in the spine) that decrease the bodies ability to adapt to these stressors. When the body has constant stress built up (physical, chemical, or emotional) our bodies will create warning signs like pain, problems and symptoms that our bodies are in a protection phase and not functioning at a 100%. In doing so our brain turns on a protection mode (sympathetic system), which is like the gas pedal and an adrenal response (stress and inflammation) occurs. Chiropractic adjustments help put us in a healing phase (growth) and takes pressure off of the gas pedal (sympathetic nervous system) by turning on the brake pedal (parasympathetic system) and restoring balance between the 2 systems. Consistent chiropractic adjustments allows the brain and body to connect better in order to heal, adapt and overcome the stressors we commonly have during life.
